Safelog pilot logbook ceo4/1/2023 ![]() I contacted "Dauntless Aviation " to request a full refund, and no response. I paid for the full version in order to completely test the functionality, and it didn't work for squat. There were several functions that were not available in the "try-it-before-you-buy-it" version, specifically for the Blackberry. Now heaven forbid, if I have the dreaded house fire and lose all of my originals (which I should probably put in a safe deposit box), all I have to do is log onto Hotmail, download and print out my backups/PDFs, and I'm back in business (aviation-wise anyhow).įor what it's worth, on the topic of Safelog, I guess I need to re-word my original review of it. More importantly, take those same PDF files, as well as your electronic log backup files and email them yourself (I use a Hotmail account - any service that keeps messages on it's server should work). I made it a point to tell them copies of all the endorsements were inside, and that I did have the originals if they wanted to see them (no one did, but then I'm a bit older than some of you - YMMV). I printed copies of these and put them in the hardcopy of my LBP printout when I went to interviews - the interviewers loved that my logbook was a one concise, neat printed copy, with everything right there. That said, use a flatbed scanner and create PDF's of all of your endorsements and such. Regarding saving paper logs for endorsements - I agree this is the prudent thing to do. Overall very happy with the service and support from LBP, the program does what I need and want it too, it could do a lot more if I'd bother to learn how to use more of it's features (and update it more often than quarterly). I don't use any of those expensive logbook programs on the market.they just cost to much. I still have my training logbook to show evidence of training and endorsments but have since, only kept an electronic logbook. I just wish this guy would do the right thing and refund my money - I made a huge mistake buying this software, and won't do that again.Įssentially, you must keep any old logbooks that have endorsements because this is the only way to verify your instructors endorsments. Since all of the features are not available in the trial version, it is impossible to "try it fully before you buy it." Buyer beware - unless I receive a full refund for software that clearly doesn't work, I can't recommend it. I sent a second request a couple of days later, and then received a fairly condescending response from James. James seemed very confrontational in his response to me, including their "no refund policy" written "in plain English." I had submitted a request for a refund within hours of paying for the full versions, with no response. The sync features are not available in the trial version, and, in addition, Safelog didn't display properly on my BB Storm (that is, features that were not available in the trial version, like the reports, adding flights) and I am apparently now out the $200+ that I paid for the logbook. I agree that it lends itself more to 91/135 operations, and not all of the features were available in the trial version. You can start by just putting your carry forward totals into the app and log individual flights thereafter.Just bought Safelog for the PC and the Blackberry companion. Getting Started doesn't require you to upload all your previous flights. It is a long term solution and can be used for your entire career, independent of your location or flying environment. If you maintain your data primarily in a physical logbook, a digital conversion exercise must be taken every time data needs to be uploaded on to the eGCA portal. ![]() ![]() The data logged in the app can be directly uploaded to eGCA portal as well.
